I am a registered Social Worker with the BC College of Social Workers, holding a degree in Social Development Studies with a specialization in Social Work. My training helps me understand how a person’s environment-like their family, school, and community-shapes their experiences, especially during childhood and adolescence.
For over 10 years, I’ve worked closely with children and youth in a variety of settings, including daycares, group homes, women and children’s shelters, and through community outreach programs. For the past five years, my focus has been supporting young people facing serious mental health and substance use challenges, both in downtown Vancouver and locally.
In my work, I’ve created care plans, coordinated with other professionals, and provided one-on-one support to children and youth going through complex and often difficult situations. I believe that before anything else, it’s important to build a trusting relationship. Once that connection is made, we can begin working together to support each young person in a meaningful way.
I also believe that it takes a team to help children and youth grow and thrive. I often work with families, schools, and community supports to make sure that each child has the wraparound care they need to feel safe, supported, and understood.
I support children and youth who may be struggling with things like anxiety, grief and loss, family issues, or big emotions that are hard to manage. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach in my work-every young person is different, and I tailor my support to meet them where they’re at. My goal is always to support resilience, foster emotional insight, and help young people build the tools they need for long-term well-being.
Above all, I am committed to compassionate, client-centered care that recognizes the strength and potential in every young person. I’m here to walk alongside them, and the people who care about them, as they find their way forward.
