Support for Parents, Caregivers, and Families with Children of All Ages
At VK Wellness, we know that when children are receiving therapy, it’s important to support their parents and caregivers too. That’s why we offer individual parenting support sessions, family wellness planning, and free wellness consultations to help you find the best services for your family.
Our Registered Clinical Counsellors and Registered Social Workers have experience supporting children, youth, and families. We offer in-person parenting support in Powell River as well as virtual sessions across BC.
What is Parenting Support?
Parenting support is a focused service that helps you better understand and respond to your child’s needs—emotionally, behaviourally, and developmentally. Whether you’re facing daily parenting stress, managing challenging behaviours, or supporting a child with mental health concerns, we’re here to help.
During parenting consultations, our clinicians can help you with:
- Understanding attachment and building secure relationships
- Healthy and effective approaches to discipline
- Behaviour management strategies for different ages
- Supporting social and emotional development
- Improving family communication skills
- Navigating mental health challenges in children
- Managing family conflict or transitions
- Accessing local or virtual resources and referrals for your family
We work with families of children from birth through adolescence, and tailor support to your unique family values, challenges, and goals.
Age-Specific Parenting Support
- Parenting Support for Ages 0-5
Support for early childhood attachment, sleep routines, emotional regulation, and early behaviour challenges. - Parenting Support for Ages 5-19
Help with emotional development, social skills, behaviour management, and support for ADHD, ASD, anxiety, or school issues. - Book Parenting Consultation
- Family Wellness Planning Program (All Ages)
