Tricia has a multitude of varied experiences in the field of social services. Over the past 25 years she has worked with children and adults experiencing an array of challenges in their lives.
Tricia enjoyed working as an elementary school teacher and as a Positive Behaviour and Intervention Field Coordinator as she supported district leadership teams to make long lasting and positive changes within school settings. She has also spent many years supporting children and families through mental health struggles, overcoming parenting challenges and family conflicts. She has also helped families navigate the challenges of caring for people with chronic mental health issues, and aging parents with diagnoses including Alzheimer’s and dementia. Tricia also has experience helping individuals with concurrent addiction and mental health issues.
My goal as a Registered Clinical Counsellor is to provide a client centred space where you feel invited to share and explore your journey in a safe environment. I believe that creating a strong foundational relationship is vital to our success. Additionally, I encourage an environment that promotes you being truly “heard’, as it can be a new experience for many, and I believe, an essential part of healing and growth. I incorporate a variety of approaches in my work including trauma informed practices, logotherapy, narrative therapy, solutions based therapies and acceptance and commitment therapy. I work from a trauma informed approach, which includes a deep understanding of how traumas and post-traumatic stress can affect our everyday lives. My work is grounded in the belief that every individual has incredible value. I bring realistic strategies and resources that can assist you to move forward on your journey to stability, growth and wellness.
