My experience, education, and understanding of physical health and human movement are extensive and multi-faceted. My pursuits, passions, and career have been firmly focused on honing the skills necessary to enhance human movement and performance and developing the expertise required to help myself and others overcome the injuries and challenges that invariably arise along the way. I’ve long known, and I am reminded of daily, that movement unlocks our ability to freely engage in pursuits that bolster and nurture our overall health and wellness, allowing us to fully thrive without constraint; such an incredibly empowered state to exist in.
I was born and raised in Powell River and moved away for post-secondary education after graduating from high school in 2002. I attended Seattle Pacific University from 2002-06, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology. In addition to my studies, I was a collegiate athlete and a 4-year member of the SPU Men’s Soccer Team. Prior to attending university, I played for the BC Provincial Soccer Team between 1999-2002 before being selected as a member of the U-20 and U-23 Canadian National Soccer Teams.
Since graduating in 2006, I have worked in a wide range of rehabilitative-focused health care environments as a Kinesiologist in the Greater Seattle Area, Victoria, and Powell River. Those have included private outpatient physiotherapy clinics, acute hospital care, residential extended care, an arthritis center, and elite level soccer coaching. I have spent the past 14 years working at a local residential mental health and substance use treatment facility maintaining a focus on helping to build and grow the health and fitness program and assisting clients over a wide variety of obstacles in pursuit of their physical health and wellness goals. I am very excited to now begin contributing the same energy and dedication towards serving the individuals of this community!
My non-work time is spent with my wife, Melanie, and my two young children, Luca and Bella, spending as much time as possible enjoying the many wonders of this beautiful outdoor playground we are fortunate to call home. Beyond family and work, I have been a devoted member of the Powell River Villa Soccer Club for the better part of 20 years, serving as a player, coach, and board member. However, these days, between my home life and work commitments, free time is scarce, so you’d be far more likely to find me crushing a quick run along the local trails with my dog Finn than lacing up my soccer boots.
I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you to learn about your unique individual circumstances, needs, and goals. With those goals in focus, we will create and enact a plan that will empower you to pursue them with confidence.
