About Us
VK Wellness Community Connection Society (VKCC) is a registered society providing mental and behavior wellness programs on the Sunshine Coast. We are a community focused society, with deep roots to the qathet region. All of the board members and the staff have a passion for holistic health, patient centered care and being a partner with the client/community on their wellness goals. With gratitude, VKWCCS acknowledge that we work within the ancestral, traditional and unceded territories of the Tla’amin Nation.
Our Vision is to have all of the Sunshine Coast Community being well using our integrated wellness model of both internal and external factors.
Our mission is to offer our wellness programs to all that want it, removing any barriers associated with cost or accessibility. We aim to work with the community to create and offer programs that are trauma-informed and person-centered.
Program Goals & Focus
Mental Health and Behavior Wellness Program
One of the main focuses of VKWCC is to be able to provide the Mental Health and Behaviour Wellness Program for community members. This program is created for children, youth and adults. Although it is accessible for those who pay out-of-pocket or through employee benefits, the cost may be too much for some. Our goal is to obtain funding so this holistic program can be attainable for everyone. This program follows the 12 areas of wellness and focuses on the areas that the client identifies. The client is connected with a case manager and a counsellor. They will work together for six months (more or less depending on client needs) to achieve the goals that the client aims towards. In addition to the case manager and counsellor, clients are also referred and work with a multidisciplinary team (depending on the needs) which include an occupational therapist, social worker, nutritionist, personal trainer, yoga therapist, hypnotherapy and herbal therapy.
